My first week back in Texas wasn't to bad.. I had a great group of guys out from California and Boston and they weren't afraid to pull the trigger. They ended up shooting 5 hogs, 3 whitetail does, 4 whitetail bucks, an antelope doe and a nice black buck. It was a whack and stack, no doubt!! The summer hunting season has begun with a bang, the Axis are just beginning to rub their velvet, and we've been seeing some really big bucks on a regular basis. We've got a new video posted on the page showing some of the Axis still in their velvet, and hopefully we'll have some hunting footage posted soon.
In the past month, I've had the pleasure of guiding Mr. Taylor on two great ram hunts. He took the nice Texas Doll in the photo on the left on his first trip to the ranch and then returned a month later to take an impressive Black Hawaiian ram. We had an unbelievable stalk on the Black Hawaiian that resulted in a kneeling, 60-yard front on shot that dropped the ram in his tracks! It was a hell of a hunt... I'll keep yall posted on the upcoming Axis hunts and keep checking in for new videos and pictures
